OUR PROCESS

This is an approach to rejuvenating your current lawn, without complete replacement of the existing sod. We take an organic (kid and pet safe) approach with all materials used during this service. At each visit the following services will be performed, as needed, to best address the current turf condition. This is a gradual approach, with results noticeable after multiple seasons of service.

We have found that performing each of these services in conjunction yields superior results to standalone services over time.

Turf condition and appearance will vary with temperature and seasonal transitions. Your turf may become dormant in hot, dry summer months - or sparse in the winter if it is not regularly mowed (maintained to under 6” maximum in length) kept clear of debris (leaves in the fall), and adequately watered. There is not a way to guarantee that a lawn will remain green year-round if those aspects are not addressed between our visits.

 Dethatching

Dethatching is performed to remove the layer of organic material that develops between the blades and the soil (dead grass blades, mulched leaves and other debris). Removing the thatch from the lawn allows for new turf growth. Moss removal may increase the price of the service. This process will leave bare soil exposed - to be seeded.

 Aeration

Lawn aeration is a mechanical process, involving the extraction of cores of soil, thatch and grass from the surface of the lawn. This allows for air, water and nutrients to better reach the root system of the grass - promoting a healthier, denser turf.

 Overseeding + Topdressing

Topdressing is the application of a blended soil mixture (containing sand, soil, etc.) to the lawn; particularly in bare spots. This is done in conjunction with aeration and overseeding to improve drainage. Lawn overseeding involves applying new grass seed to your existing turf. This increases your lawns density and will fill in bare spots. The increased density discourages weed growth. We recommend overseeding approximately 1-2 times each year. Improvement in the turf condition through this approach will be gradual (over the course of several seasons). Inclusive of carbon soil amendment and fertilizer application as needed (according to technician discretion).

Standalone services are available upon request.
